Today one of Wesley's favorite soft, cuddly friends lost one of his eyes. Grandma to the rescue. I searched through my thousands of assorted old and new buttons, and came up with this solution that employs two large dark-colored buttons and two pearlized white buttons. I think it came out pretty great, but Wesley's still not sure. He wouldn't even TOUCH the poor bear when it just had one eye. He brought it to Judi, and then refused anything else to do with it, as he cried copiously and loudly.

At least he smiles at it, now. I'm sure he'll get used to it, even though the eyes are slightly out of alignment (I see now...oops). It's the best I could do on short notice!

Next up will be at least one baby sweater! My daughter Jen's older girl Caitlin is pregnant, and due in November. They are having a baby shower for her in the middle of August. I need to try to get the sweater(s) ready to send with Judi and Harry, who will be traveling over there for the first weekend in August. They're staying at Jen's house one night of their two nights there. Harry's niece is getting married, and her mother has sent the money for them to go to the wedding! Wow!

wow...that is brilliant! Summer is not the best time for knitting, but funnily enough I am itching to knit, so think as soon as Cooler weather hits I'll be a knitting fiend again! We've had about 26 days in a row here with not one spot of rain and hot hot hot every day! I've not seen grass dried everywhere like this in years!

I've been hearing that, from other British friends on YouTube! It's hot here, too...but we are humid, with lots of rain...rather like the summer we had about five years back, that ended up just being absolutely miserable! Thankfully I'm not totally confined to the house, without a view of anything but a corner of an upward road, and a back yard totally occluded by weeds growing like crazy with all the WET!

Even with this weather, the farm is beautiful, and I have been gardening, and we have good AC, now that our system has been replaced, so life is still basically comfortable, and everything outside is green, not dry.

Well, that's good to hear!

We have a little rain this morning! And more on the way soon by the looks of the forecast! But unlike other summers which have been rainy a LOT of the time it is showing more sun for the weekend so that is wonderful! I've been getting by using frozen hot water bottles on my feet, cools you down a treat, there's not really any need for air con in homes in this country, we don't usually go over around 22 Celsius (71f) for more than a few days. But this year has been quite unusual, so if it continues like this, I feel more people will be investing in some kind of air con!

As soon as they do, though, it'll probably go back to cooler summers again. LOL
