Superflat Overworld--Carrie

Postby psychedelicsim » October 11th, 2014, 6:24 pm

I started a superflat world last night using the Overworld preset. I have already found one village where I've been getting wood since there are no trees. There were also two chests with iron armor, an iron pickaxe and an iron sword. I "borrowed" one of their furnaces and crafting tables too. I've been mining and have found lots of iron and redstone. The coal is kind of sparse, but when I do find some, the veins are pretty big. I've also found lapis lazuli, gold and 13 diamonds.

Here is what I've collected so far. I just completed a few trades with villagers and crafted an enchantment table too.

Travis started a superflat world using the Tunneler's Dream preset. He started finding coal at around layer 122. He's at layer 45 right now and is finding a lot more. At one point, when he was a lot higher up, he ran into something white and couldn't figure out what in the world it could be. It was clouds! :evillaugh: :rotfl:

So funny about the clouds! I have them turned off in my game, as they use more resources. The Soartex_Fanver texture pack makes them pretty much invisible, anyway (very light).

Wow! You have found a lot of resources already! That's pretty neat! Superflats are very interesting!!!

I agree! After I wrote that post, I started finding lots of coal. I've also found 20+ diamonds. There are a few caves here and there, but I haven't found anything huge yet. I'm hoping to find a nice abandoned mine shaft with a dungeon or two. ;-)

While I was out going from village to village, some horses spawned near my home base. :yeah:

I've started a garden with carrots, potatoes and wheat. I just found some pumpkins, so I'll be adding a section for those too. Hopefully I'll find some melon seeds soon. :uhhuh:

This is really great! I'm really looking forward to playing our joint superflat game, too!

Me too! :joy:

While I was down in the branch mine, more horses spawned. :yeah: Since I had so much cobblestone (Ethan and Lucas came in and helped me mine for a little while), I decided it was time to start building.

One of the villages I just went to had 2 chests with 5 oak saplings each. Woot! Now I don't have to "borrow" wood from the villagers. :joy:

Beautiful, Carrie! I love that last picture.

I was wondering if saplings would be in the superflat chests somewhere. Woohoo!!! :joy:

I was so excited when I found them! :rotfl: You should have heard me when I finally found an abandoned mine shaft. Travis thought I had hurt something. I almost did! :evillaugh:

It was right under one of the south villages. :joy:
