I had to light up the tops of my mushrooms because mobs kept spawning.

I had to do the same. It was because of my mushrooms that I got attacked by all the skeletons...and lost my 40 levels!!! :sob:

Oh no! :ohno: :friends:

I finally got a potato from a zombie, so I now have all of the ingredients for the roast pork dinner with carrots and baked potatoes.

I made an area for mooshrooms, but I was unsuccessful at spawning them so I decided to place them myself for now. I might try to spawn them naturally again later.

Since the lake for the squid is on the border of the forest and birch forest biomes, I have planted both types of trees in this area.

Honestly, I have just been having fun creating my own little "sky island." I'm working on the challenges in survival mode, but I'm also using creative for some of the building blocks. I've really enjoyed seeing what I can accomplish because I've never really tried some of these parts of the gameplay before. Next up, I'm going to try building a village to see what happens. :yeah:

Yes...me too...finding it extremely enjoyable to just build on, while watching for the challenges to be possible as I go. :uhhuh:

I mainly worked on marking off the biome borders yesterday.

Three wolves spawned, which I have now tamed.

Here are some pictures of how my "sky island" looks now. Now that we know about the biome placement for the village though, I'll be moving a few areas around.

Woot!!! Looks like we're on the same track! You can build the village anywhere you like, really. That's what I've been doing in my Villages map. I have five of them in NON-natural-village places, now. The key point is that you need the central well. I don't know if the game will recognize it as a village without the 11-layer-deep well, but we can try it with a shallower one, or...hmmm...build UP the land and make a deep well, or...go down as with the end portal and build the well walls...I think I'd rather go up. :uhhuh:

You are so brave to go out there on one square to mark those borders!!! I can't do it. I just start hyperventilating. It's hard enough to hang over the edge by my toes to build the shelves outward, but at least I know I can back up a couple of squares and let go with my little finger for a second or two!

I was a nervous mess once I got finished marking those borders off! :evillaugh: I kept having to take breaks, which is why it took me so long. I am so glad I did it though!

Travis made a combination mob farm / mob grinder that is working quite well! I think I might lower the platform of mine so the mobs don't die on impact and make a room that I can stand in to smack them in the knees. :rotfl:

I like the idea of having the well and village up. I'm thinking that I can place it right over where my water sources and veggies are growing right now. I'd have to move those around a little so they get the proper sunlight though. Great idea! :joy:

Well, I spent all day changing around my mob farm instead. :rotfl: It's now a mob spawner/grinder/xp farm. ;-)

I got to smack a lot of mob ankles today. One hit usually for skeletons, zombies and creepers, 3 for endermen and 5 or 6 for witches.

The revamped bottom of the mob farm. I've enclosed the original drop area and made it into a grinder room.

Yup, those are chests and hoppers. I got tired of having to put the game on peaceful so I could knock out the wall and grab the loot. I'm too chicken to leave the mobs on while I do that. :rotfl: The hoppers started frustrating me, so I left them as they are right now. I'm hoping that I can get it to work so that everything will drop into one or two central chests.

This is just one of the many hauls I got from killing mobs. I finally got some iron, along with a gold chest plate and helmet and chain leggings and boots.

The view from on top of the mob spawner in creative. Just waiting on some zombie villagers. I ended up building a dark room on the side of the village.
