Microsoft buying Minecraft

This is a public forum. We love to talk about how we're playing Minecraft on our own computers. These discussions don't include either Adventure or Challenge maps--just our own games that we have started from scratch.

I hadn't heard, but I just read an article about it, and then read the Mojang article about it. Both articles cite the fact that Microsoft has been working with them for the past two years, and has been present in even our newest upgrade! They don't expect that a whole lot will change--especially for the PC version. Microsoft is more interested in other versions. :uhhuh:

Hopefully the "not much changing" doesn't mean our game itself won't change...upgrades are good! :uhhuh:

I love that Minecraft can be a family game and educational too! Lucas found the other two of those handbooks (we have the essential and redstone ones) in the Scholastic Book order form that he got at school, so we're going to get those for us...I mean him. :yeah: :evillaugh:

I think Microsoft needs to understand why people play Minecraft and all the things we love about it. If they can grasp that, then they will be okay. Free updates and taking care of problems quickly is a major part of Minecraft and why people love it over other games. Microsoft doesn't always fix things they should and they are known to worry about the bottom line, so I am a little concerned about those issues. I hope this doesn't turn into another Sims/EA fiasco all over again. :wow:
