Super Hostile - The Kaizo Caverns - Carrie

Postby psychedelicsim » March 6th, 2014, 5:08 pm

I have been having a blast playing Vechs Super Hostile - The Kaizo Caverns map this morning. :joy: You are underground surrounded by bedrock, so there's no way to dig out. I thought it might be a little claustrophobic, but it's not. There are some tight spots, but it's not too bad. You also cannot activate cheats for teleporting using NBTExplorer, which is OK. It hasn't taken me too long to get back and forth to the Victory Monument...so far.

This is where you start out surrounded by bedrock.

The first area is called Lonely Lava Cavern. It took a lot of going up and down to get through this one without getting killed by lava.

Wow! That looks interesting! (I say that now...it could do me under not to be able to teleport!)

Could you post the link?

Sure, here you go: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/191908-ctmcollection-vechs-super-hostile-series/#AnchorMap4

I thought I'd be going crazy not being able to teleport, but it really hasn't been that bad (except when I was dying in bedrock :rotfl:). Going from one intersection to the next is definitely not as far as in UT. It would be nice to be able to teleport to the Victory Monument in Intersection 01 though after we get wool. :uhhuh:

I've been playing on Easy sometimes, but have had to change it to Peaceful a lot. If I can't teleport, that's my comfort thing. When you first start in the spawn area, zombies come up the stairway and you have no armor or weapons.

I change to peaceful once in a while in Lethamyr, too, but have been happy NOT to have had to very often. It's much more laid back than the UT maps!

I'm just installing Hexxit, and have found the Soartex FTB (Feed the Beast) universal pack that's supposed to work with Hexxit.

So I probably can't download anything else right now, but will try this out, when I can. Thanks, Carrie!

I'm also going to try the Lethamyr and Legendary maps and one called Spellbound Caves that focuses on enchanting and brewing. ;-)

I agree!

I played this one until late last night and when I went to sleep, all I could think about was running through the Kaizo Caverns! :rotfl:

I have lots more screenshots. I'll post those in a little while after I get the kids off to school.

I spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon and evening in Ilvern Ruins. That place is huge with lots of goodies, 2 fleecy boxes and is perfect for a home base. :yeah:

But first, I had to get through here...

Carrie, this looks interesting and I'm glad you're having fun, but I probably won't do this map because it looks too intense for me. I've been able to do the Lethamyr map because for the most part the mobs aren't constantly just on top of you -- which gets my BP overexcited and hypes me up way too much. You are doing a great job with this map and I certainly applaud your great work. :cheer:

Linda, I didn't even know you COULD turn any of the adventure/challenge maps to peaceful. And I didn't think you could teleport in any of them either. :yikes:

Thanks Lydia. :friends: This map is definitely intense in some spots. I'm so glad I have the option to turn it to Peaceful if it gets too overwhelming. :uhhuh:

I was able to use NBTExplorer to turn allowCommands to 1 with the UT maps, but that option is not available with this one or any of the others by Vechs that I've downloaded.

Lydia--you can always turn the game to any difficulty, simply through the options menu. That option is never taken away.

As for teleporting, through NBTExplorer, with most maps, you can change the commands to "1" (on) instead of "0" (off). I usually do, because I simply get tired of running around everywhere all the time, and I like to keep all my stuff in one central place, instead of wondering where I put "that thing I need."

I don't use the teleporting to get out of trouble or anything like that...just to travel from my home location to my current base, to unload storage chests into my home storage area.

Carrie--Lethamyr is by Vechs. I was able to change the commands to 1. I wonder if it's just because this is the one for Easy.

Carrie--You can add commands in Kaizo Caverns. You just have to put the map into your saves, open it once, then quit to title.

Then go into NBTExplorer and go to the level.dat file, then Data. The "allow commands" is the top entry. Double-click and when the box opens, change the number to 1. Save.

Works like a charm.

I'm going to try out the caverns now, after I check into NSMC02 for at least a bit.
