Castle Project

Here's what I'm working on right now! Not a whole lot of pictures yet, but there's not a whole lot to show! I have a hard time finishing things, so we'll see how far this goes. c:

That's gorgeous! I do hope you finish it. You've already done more than I tend to get done at any given time. :lo:

Was gonna add some more pictures yesterday, but my laptop wouldn't capture from the game. Kept grabbing the background instead. I'll try again today. A bunch of progress has been made! c:

I guess I can link to the inspiration picture:

Oh, that is fantastic! I liked it before seeing the inspiration, but now that I've seen how faithfully you are creating it, I'm totally awed! :wow:

Haha! Thanks! It's a little bit bigger than what I anticipated, but that's okay! I plan to do the church over in the back of the photo as well. c:

Finally had some time to work on the castle again! I've got a part-time job now, with college classes coming up in the fall. Been running around tryin' to get everything in order.

It's going along a little faster now. After I had the front and a side done, it's simply a matter of mirroring it. Still lacking the rear left tower and the center area.

EDIT: Pardon the snow. I decided to build in an alpine area because I like the darker grass and forgot it snows the higher in altitude you go. :evillaugh:

It's looking fantastic!!! I love the snow. It makes it look much more natural for winter! You're doing a fantastic job on this. Will you still be doing the part-time job after college classes start up? If so, wow!!! Wishing you all the best! :friends:

Thank you! After I'm finished with the castle, I'd like to get that church started. I have no idea what the interior size will be, so I get to be creative with it~

Yes, I'll still be working. I'm going after a certificate in Auto-CAD (computer-aided drafting and design), so I'll only have five-ish classes a week. When I graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do in college, so I put it off and worked at a library. Which I LOVED. Now I've moved in with my boyfriend, and though I'd love to work in a library again, I also want some college. I still didn't know what I wanted to do. There just wasn't anything that resonated with me as something I could enjoy doing. One evening a few months ago, I was playing TS3 and my boyfriend shouted "Auto-CAD!" I love designing homes in the game, so why not try and learn real drafting? c:

I agree! I think you will love it! My husband got his degree in architectural drafting, in 2011, at the age of 58. I was very proud of him for sticking with it among the younger group of students.

It's definitely something I would like to have done, also, but now I can't, due to physical problems. I do have a couple of CAD programs and know my way around them fairly well. I used one of them to pair with the original Sims game, for homeschooling my daughter Judi, back in the 90s. She had to do her geometry and trig, so that she learned about how the CAD and game programs made use of those concepts, before she could play her game.

I think it'll end up being really fun. Although I'm nervous, I'm really looking forward to it!

Also...

The castle has been completed! I've been itching to play some TS3, but told myself to finish this project first. It's just the outside, since I've no interior reference and not much else. But it's a good time to take a break before the church. Don't wanna burn myself out. Bonus picture of the little medieval building included!

That is so absolutely fantabulous!!! I don't know if I could ever have the patience to do all of that! I love the little building as well, and I'm so looking forward to the church!

I'm going to let Patty (MamaLambNC) know about this. She is a total medieval times lover, and will just go crazy! I'm sure she'll want a copy of your map when you get it finished. She does play Minecraft, but not all the time. Her grandson (I think he's six now) does, too, and maybe her slightly younger granddaughter.

I've been re-posting our TS3 Monopoly Board if you're interested in it. After some "fixes" were done when Back to the Future (or maybe the one right before that) came out, it went back to having things sink underground, even though that had been cured a few EPs before then, and the world had been working very successfully.

Anyway. Once the houses are put in, if things have sunk, they can be raised, in most cases, and then they are fine, and the world is a lot of fun. I'm working on getting all the original lots listed, and a FULL save posted as well. I had forgotten that I had begun getting it put back together with all the houses fixed if necessary, and I never finished doing it. If you're interested in checking it out, it's in the TS3/Worlds section.

'Tis very late (or early...depending on how you look at it), and I must get to bed. Been trying to successfully get past the first episode of the July 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge (check my channel about those, if you haven't seen them before). It took me to the 12th try to be successful and get a good 2nd Episode as well. My voice is hoarse and my eyes hurt. We are night-dwellers this time, and I have a hard enough time when everything is bright and sunny or lit with torches, etc. This time we're not allowed to use torches, jack-o-lanterns, or glowstone, and can ONLY eat Zombie flesh! Sheesh! All this, and Minecraft 1.10.2. The desert is all around us, and there are Husks. The hardest thing, really, is trying to get my mind reversed about when the episodes start and end (it's sunset to sunset, instead of sunrise to sunrise). I now have a successful first episode to post after midnight tomorrow (today, now). Hooray!!!

I haven't been in survival with the new mobs just yet, but when I do, I'll be on the lookout for them. I try and keep up with all the new posts here. Been following the Monopoly world recovery you're doing. I'm always on the lookout for new worlds. The smaller, the better, with charm and character! I read the boards, but am just too quiet for my own good. XD

No problem! :-) We've had so much fun with Monopoly over the years. We ran contests for the TS2 version, and I made Monopoly Deeds for the winners for each house, hotel, and community lot. We never got the board entirely finished, but it was great fun.

The TS3 version was fun, to, except for the sinking items thing, which for a while was happening on all new worlds. I had done a lot of research and testing, and figured out how to keep that from happening, and then EA did a fix for it and then lost that fix, so then it was happening even worse. That kind of thing kept us world creators in fits. Sigh.

It was so frustrating, because the world is so flat and simple!
