First Snowfall, Fall of 2016

Postby lindawing » November 18th, 2016, 6:04 pm

I tried to attach two pictures of the blizzard, but they won't finalize from my phone. I'll add them later, when I get to my computer. :-)

EDIT...

Here are four pictures I took today. I think we got about 4". Some areas got as much as 6".

#1...About 5:45 AM (through our suite's exterior door window)

Today is a brilliantly sunny day, making the snow gleam. It's gotten very cold with its advent, though. Brrr.

Our porch area is all clear today. I had to shoo the roosters off of it. They were gathering what warmth could be had, out there, where they didn't have to walk in the white stuff. One of them was crowing his unique, "Cocka-DOO, " which is all he says, incessantly, and I just couldn't take it anymore!

Beautiful! We had snow a couple of weeks back, it was literally a couple of inches at worst, but it delayed Jason's flight by 6 hours! This country is not prepared for an ounce of snow :ohno:

Yikes! We are snowing again, and the wind has picked up a bit, too. Yuck.

Cocka-Doo!! Too funny!! Last day of November and you are blessed with more snow!! It's warm here today, again (in the upper 50's); another cold front is due this weekend with cold drizzly rain and in the 40's for our highs for a few days anyway.

Instead of drizzly rain, it would be nice to have some light fluffy snow for a change. :friends:

It has stopped snowing for the moment, anyway. The forecast is showing more, though.

The rooster who was crowing on my porch this morning was more conventional, but his ranting went on for a couple of hours. I was "sleeping," but he kept interrupting.

It's funny. I love the roosters, really. They all have such different personalities. They just don't particularly like fresh snow. :uhuh:

There have been various plans over the last year for butchering, but I don't think any of us really want to eat them. Having fresh eggs is really nice, though. :uhhuh:

Fresh eggs are very, very nice and well worth a cockadoo or two. :uhhuh:
