I agree. After having been through the 1964 Alaska earthquake, plus tornadoes the following summer, out here on the plains, when we picked up the other kids from relatives where they had finished out school that year (I finished in Fairbanks, while our folks went home to rebuild in Valdez), I am a weather-watching freak as you've probably noticed. Plus when anything shakes even the least little bit, I have a very hard time, even after all these years!

I understand. Although we've not been through any major quakes - we were in California for one of their minor quakes and had a number of them in Oklahoma as well as here in Texas. We felt them more in Oklahoma though and had things fall off the walls and the fireplace there. So far, even though several have been close to us, we've not felt them as much or heard the loud bang (explosion sound) that would accompany those in Oklahoma. There were several in Oklahoma that were strong enough, it would feel like someone hit the chair I was sitting in, as hard as they could. The one in California shook things up a bit and Terry was out on his ship, while I was alone, not sure what to do, except to stand under the door jamb until it finished. That was my first earthquake experience. Of course, being from Houston, we've also been through a number of hurricanes, too. The Tornado, though - that had to be the most traumatic and frightening to go through and most devastating after effects we've ever experienced. :uhhuh:

Living in a country where it is constantly either rainy or cold or both and barely ever warm enough to wear shorts all summer, I detest rain with a vengeance! Hoping one day we have the technology to shoo away those clouds and push them where we need them, such as crops or drought areas :rotfl:
