Introducing Apartment Dwellers - Casa Quatro (The Apartment)

Postby MelodyOkie » May 18th, 2015, 10:24 pm

Another group of roomies, only they have their very own townhouse each - although, Since we don't have "Apartments" in Sims 4, or anyway to designate anything - they use each others more often than not.... :evillaugh: The Sims can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=380&t=2774&p=18987#p18987

I just posted in the household topic, that it was THIS group of Sims that I was confusing in my mind with the Book Club members, regarding the use of the "apartments!"

Both households will now be ensconced in my Builder world, though! :joy:

I finally got my Apartment Dwellers located and moved in. I did put them in Willow Creek. There was an empty lot across from the Goth home that turned out to be a perfect fit and location for it.

I also realized, this having been created when we first got Sims 4, and at that time not realizing the "fire hazard" and those fire alarms are useless without a fire department ... So I've added the "Sprinkler System" in the back beside the bbq pits ... and would advise everyone doing the same.

So then I got my Apartment Dwellers placed and identified each ones apartment, sending them to their respective beds.

I was pleasantly surprised when Rose Bud woke up, she went to her own kitchen to get something to eat!!

So I thought, maybe they'll all do the same and use their own apartments!! I was very optimistic ... but then Rusty Brown woke up....
The first thing he did was run over to Olive Pits Apartment and bbq hot dogs on her pit. So then all was lost and all was chaos. Sonny Day woke up and Olive woke up and everyone was everywhere except their own apartment, including Rose Bud who chose to watch TV in Sonny Day's apartment (sigh) and the rest of them at some point all ended up in Olive Pit's living room.

Sure wish we could designate living spaces ....

That said, these four should be a lot of fun playing them like we did "My Three Sims" in Sims 3. Maybe we can break them of the habit of using someone else's bathroom, computer, living room, bbq, etc. and teach them to use their own! :evillaugh:

In TS2 and TS3, if a Sim used an area further away from his sleeping area, it was usually because there was a routing problem of some sort. In TS4, it's just because they're so darned social! I mean...I LIKE that about them, but as we were talking about with the weather stuff, EA just tends to go so OVERBOARD! :uhhuh:

Not so much with TS3. I did a version of "My Three Sims" before we could "lock their doors" and even when we could ... they still were all over the place in each other's kitchens, cooking; living rooms and bathrooms; the only thing that was safe were the beds because those could be designated. The only way to keep them out of each other's spaces were to lock the doors (which we could do). It didn't have anything to do with "routing" issues ... their homes were all on the same lot ... so the Sims think they belong where-ever they want to be on that lot.

In Sims 2 We had Apartments and could actually have Sims in each apartment (not the case in TS3)... they would visit each other, (my sims have been very social in all of the Sims games - not just TS4 :evillaugh: ) but they generally stayed in their own apartments; cooked in their own apartments; used their own bathrooms, etc., so this was not an issue for me in Sims 2. It really wasn't that big of an issue in Sims 3 since we could lock their doors; it is a big issue in Sims 4 because we can't lock their doors, we can't even designate their beds for them (however, once they sleep in a certain bed, they do tend to go back to that particular bed each night.) :uhhuh:

Lockable doors and "settable" beds would be terrific additions to the game!!! :uhhuh:
