Round Robin #1 (Carrie & Linda)

This is a public forum. Multiplayer games are great fun, but not everyone can be online at the same time, and many times we just end up playing by ourselves, anyway, using bandwidth, and paying for a server. We have decided to try doing some Round-Robin games, to see how it might work out. Take a look to see what we've come up with. Anyone may add one, at any time.

Round Robin #1 (Carrie & Linda)

Postby psychedelicsim » October 19th, 2014, 12:42 pm

I have chosen village #1 and have been working away at getting enough cobble to make a wall around it. As I was finishing the last couple of blocks yesterday (during a thunderstorm), as I was jumping off the wall, I got struck by lightning. :evillaugh:

I figured we could build the community warehouse at the spawn point.

I don't have many pictures because I was basically just branch mining and I haven't done much to the village except for adding the wall and cobble around the gardens. Here's a good one though. We have 26 so far. :joy:

DIAMONDS!!!

We're up to 40 now. Woot!

I've finished the wall and currently working on lighting up the village and building the roads. I'm also starting a tunnel system for us to use for getting to each village. We can also add roadways, so either passage will be available, one with less mobs than the other. I'm hoping that at one end of them will be an abandoned mine shaft. :uhhuh:

I forgot to tell you that we have saplings! I found 4 in one of my chests. :joy:

The only thing I have not seen is passive mobs. I had seen some horses and cows at first, but they have all despawned. I even went walkabout to see if I could find some, but I had no luck. :yikes:

Hmmm...we should be able to get more animals, by going to a completely different chunk, saving, then going back. Have you tried that?

No, not yet. I'll give it a try and let you know what happens.

We now have 56 diamonds and lots of wood, iron, coal, gold, redstone, lapiz and more. Off to a good start. When would you like for me to plan on sending you the map?

Why don't you keep it until you start work, then post it for me. You'll probably be pretty tired your first couple of weeks! :uhhuh:

Fingers cross there's a skeleton or zombie spawner in there. ;-)

Lots of screenshots today. I've been working on the village. Two iron golems have spawned, but I haven't seen any children yet. I could have just missed them though, because there seem to be a lot more villagers now. I still have lots of space left to expand, but I wanted to focus on lighting it up first. I have built my house, an apothecary and enchantment building. I definitely want to build a mob spawner too. Do you want me to build a nether portal or did you want to do that?

It's looking great, Carrie! :joy:

Go ahead and build a nether portal if you want to. We can always add more, later, when we get out far enough. :uhhuh:

I'm very much looking forward to playing this world next, then handing it back to you, etc. It will be so nice to share, even without getting to play at the same time! :uhhuh:

Agreed! :joy:

This has been lots of fun. I can't wait for you to see everything that I have been working on. I will go ahead and build the nether portal then. I'd like to get some glowstone.

Would you like to build the warehouse? Right now, I just have a chest and pillar out at the spawn point. If you want to build it, then I'll just leave my chests filled up and you can divide everything out the way you like. :yeah:

I'd be glad to build the warehouse. ;-)

Why don't you just put anything you'd like to keep, privately, to a chest (or chests) in a separate location that won't be used for warehouse area, and leave anything to be used communally in the warehouse area? Even if you don't have your home started yet, you can make a "private" area, marked as such with signs, that I will leave entirely alone. :uhhuh: Or you can mark out your first homestead and put your chests there...whichever feels right and/or you have time for.

That way I'll keep adding to the communal chests, and make my own private chests.
