A Chat about it

Postby MelodyOkie » April 6th, 2016, 1:50 am

I couldn't find a good place to post this, so I figure here is good a place as any.

After removing Origin and all my games (because Origin had taken over all the Sims games - 4 of course, and more recently 3. I'm kicking myself right about now, because even though 2 came from Origin, I didn't need Origin open to play it .. oh, well ... not going there again!!)

So, I reinstalled my Sims 3 up to the point there was "on-line" stuff (the first ep that created that little issue - Generations). So here I am, me and my Sims 3 all happy and giggly until.... my packages containing my creations for Sims 3 won't install.

OK, so I'll install a few more EP's (I can't remember when Origin actually became required in order to install packages, but it seems it is). So I've added Generations, Pets and Showtime, allowing for Origin to install. But I don't intend to enter that evil place. No logging in there; because right now ... I can actually play my game without having to go on-line. I hope to keep it that way. Meanwhile, I am in the process of re-installing my creations, my purchases (those that I want, anyway), worlds, etc.

I hope never to go through this mess again. If Origin creeps in and steels my joy away by taking over my game and causing me to have to be on-line and logged in to play .... I think I will burn each and every Sims CD I own!!

I'm sure it will take days, maybe even weeks to get my game in order so that I can play in peace, once again. I'm actually looking forward to being back in Sims 3 again. :yeah:

Oh, I am! I am really surprised at how much I am enjoying this. I actually look forward to going into my Sims 3 and getting my worlds set-up, ready to play.

I finally was able to get all my creations reinstalled (and that was like clockwork - went quickly and smoothly through the launcher - believe it or not! :yeah: ). I have 3 ready to go. I have decided to get them all set-up with the particular sims and lots placed then I'll spend time playing; maybe one a day or so.

Although my intentions were to work alphabetically with the worlds, having installed Showtime last, I did not realize the game had Starlight Shores highlighted and clicked on it. I went ahead and placed my Pagent Girls in my Doll house here, as well as the Studio for Performing Arts. :joy: Since I did install Pets, I placed the Theory family in the home I had created specifically for Appaloosa Plains and even though they are also placed on Autumn Island.

I really have missed Sims 3, the open worlds, the worlds Linda had created for us along with our offerings for them - and Toddlers!! I did not realize how much I missed Toddlers!

So far things are going great and I'm so pleased about that. :uhhuh:

As I'm setting up my worlds, I am taking a little time with my main Sim Family for that world. I did take a few pictures as I was going along.

I did get Mom set-up for using the home as a Day-care and before I left, parents were bringing their toddlers by to drop them off. The Butler is so much help with the little ones!!

A bit of a slow process, but things are going well in my game. I've set-up Christmas Quilt and will play my simself Okie there, while pursuing a cooking career; in Hidden Springs, I will play the Shorters. Mrs. Shorter will take on Design!!

I will be setting-up Lucky Palms next (Lucky #7 :evillaugh: )

Pleased with how the game is working so far. I've not been invaded by Origin, which is a good thing!!

I need to go find "Four Corners" - it's a very important world to include in my Sims game life. :uhhuh:
