The Ballard's

Postby MelodyOkie » November 23rd, 2014, 10:34 pm

This is from my House Building Contest #4 for the Wellspring of Magic Contest in Sims 3.

Shaylee Ballard loves French. Her favorite word is Bonjour. She also loves Dance, especially ballet. Ballet uses French terms such as plie' and releve'. She thinks they make Ballet so pretty. She also loves all forms of dance and just to dance in general. She even makes up her own forms of dance routines. Shaylee is the only one in her group that does like to dance. Thanks to all of her new friends, Shaylee has discovered that she likes crafts and creating stuff (especially dance stuff). Shaylee is also crazy about fairies - especially dancing fairies.

Shaylee, along with her Mom, Leonora and her two older brothers, Leroy and David, have just moved to Portal Connecticut from North Caroline. She is very saddened by her parent's divorce and feels fortunate to have made friends so quickly.

Shaylee's Mother, Leonora, recently divorced, has chosen to make this move to Connecticut with the children so she can be closer to her family. She has chosen Portal because it is close, but not too close and specifically she chose the Wellspring area because it is a quiet neighborhood with good schools. Leonora is a nurse and would like to continue her education with the goal of becoming a Doctor.

Even though Shaylee would, at times, like to trade her brother in for sisters, because they tease her unmercifully. She also knows they watch out for her as well. Both Leroy and David are resentful over their parent's divorce and remain angry that their Dad left the way he did. They also resent having to leave their school and friends. They both were on the football team and both of them know they won't be able to join the team here. They will both have to get part time jobs to help their mom out with the finances.

The Ballard Family is now available for download in the Gallery under OkieMelody

I will be working on their home as I can and will upload once it is complete. (The Ballard home is one of my favorites - the version was created in order to develop the rules for the Sims 3 contest. I hope I can do as nice a version for Sims 4.)

I love the Ballard, also! You've done a tremendous job on the family, Melody! :joy: I'll pick them up when you get their home uploaded. :hooray:

Thank you Linda. I liked the Sims 3 version of them better, though. Maybe if I could see better .. but, probably not. I just can't seem to do as well on the sims in Sims 4 as I could in Sims 3. Not enough design choices for one thing and what colors are on the screen aren't the same once on the sim. All the Sims 4 sims look alike to me..... :yeah: :evillaugh:

It might be better in CaS after you can see better. Did you know if you go into the detail view (even with the faces), that there are extended pushes and pulls? I didn't know that at first. The mouths, especially, are easier to change in detail view--at least for me. :uhhuh:

I definitely am looking forward to whatever design choices they'll add in the next EP, and I sure do wish we had better color choices, to be sure! :yeah:

Finally!! The Ballard's home is complete and available in the Gallery under OkieMelody!!

This Sims 4 version is ok, but I like my Sims 3 version better. I've also had to make some changes to suit the limitations of The Sims 4.

I will present the Sims 3 version picture followed by the Sims 4 version. Be sure to click on them for better views.

Thank you Linda!! :joy:

I am so hoping I will hear from the eye Doctor this week that my new glasses are in! So, I plan on waiting to do the last family until then. Everything is just so blurry and I had the hardest time trying to finish The Ballard. I am so anxious to get the 5th and last family and their home done!! :yeah:

Thank you Carrie!! :friends:

Linda - this Thursday will be 3 weeks. They were supposed to be ready in 2 weeks, but I am sure the Thanksgiving Holiday caused a delay. If I don't hear from them today, I think I will call them tomorrow to see if they have them in and just haven't called me yet. That's happened to me before in Oklahoma. They thought they had notified me, but they had not. (sigh)
