The Marquez Family

Postby MelodyOkie » November 20th, 2014, 7:39 pm

Originally created for my 2nd House Building Contest in Sims 3, The Marquez Family moved from Florida to Portal Connecticut, into a home in the suburb Wellspring of Magic.

The star of this family is Marisol, a young girl who hopes to make lots of friends. She loves magic and swimming, mermaids and dragons. She was on the swim team in florida and hopes to be on the swim team at her new school.

Marisol has a Brother and Sister - twins that her parents adopted from China. Chan and Chen - In sims 3 they had just aged to toddlers. We don't have toddlers in Sims 4, nor can we create babies in CaS - so I wasn't sure what to do with this. Do I have 3 children all the same age? No - I don't think so. So here my story has to change and Marisol will be an olny child. Maybe when she is a teenager, I will add twin brother and sister to the household somehow. Not sure - because then it gets complicated. If adopted - can I do a twin brother and sister who are Chinese. Probably not. So maybe they have to leave the story altogether, never to return - except in my Sims 3 version.

Marisol's Father, James worked as a Chef in Florida and plans on continuing his career in Portal Connecticut.
Her Mother, Lucinda, was an Insurance Agent prior to adopting the twin babies, then she stayed at home with them - however they are no longer part of this story, so Lucinda hopes to start a new career in Business.

Marisol is artsy and loves crafts. She especially loves jewelry and makes her own.

Wendy won this 2nd contest and was awarded the Sims 3 version of The Marquez Family.

Pictures and Family for Sims 4 to follow.

Good job with them, Melody! Hopefully before long they'll at least add being able to create babies in CaS, not to mention toddlers. :uhhuh:

Well, it's ok. I think it will be a nice thing for whomever decides to dl them to add to the family as they see fit. The home includes two nurseries with crib and bed - so when I recreate it, I will just put a bed in each, yet leave room for a bassinet to be set in them and the family can be added to later. (It's a 4 Bedroom home, that also includes a playroom for the children) and a Swimming Pool!! I've just started on the Sims 4 version. Hoping I can have it done and uploaded by the end of the weekend.

Today was a heavy cleaning day and so will tomorrow, but hopefully Saturday I'll have plenty of time to work on the house, although, we do want to put up our Christmas tree so it will be a festive addition to our Thanksgiving celebration. :joy:

:friends:

(I forgot to say that I hope I'm getting things clean. Since I can't see very well - I'm just winging it and doing the best I can. Who knows what it really looks like around here!! :evillaugh: ) That also goes for the Sims I'm creating - I've no idea whether I've gotten any likeness to their Sims 3 version or not. I just do the best I can with the hand I'm dealt with right now and hope they look something like their counterparts!! :uhhuh:

The home is coming along nicely with the supervision of James and Lucinda Marquez. The formal dining room, kitchen and office have been completed. The outside frame has been completed and the roof is on, along with the front porch and upstairs balcony.

I'm so excited with the progress I just had to post a sneak peek.

The Marquez Family Home is now available in the Gallery under OkieMelody. "The Marquez" was my housebuilding 2 contest as mention in the first post; although my version was not an entry in the contest, I created it in consideration of what rules to apply for the contest.
