Guidelines & Discussion

This neighborhood is a facsimile of the familiar board game--with an international twist. Because we have forum members from quite a few nations, we decided to represent all the versions of our members' games. We also originally ran this hood as a progressive contest, and awarded deeds for the best lots in the periodic polls. At this point in time, there is no further contest, and anyone submitting a new lot will obtain a deed. Check out this public forum for more information, and to download the Monopoly Board and its lots, to date.

The Sims 2 Monopoly Board has an international setting. To build for this neighborhood, you'll need to OPEN THIS LINK to see the parameters for each lot.

The residence lot sizes must be 2x2, 2x3, or 3x2. The hotel lot size is 5x5.

There are a few empty lots on the board, which can be used as templates, if you like, or simply use completely flat lots in the sizes shown above. use the chart (linked above) for the predominant colors in your lots.

After the yellow lots, the hotels get very pricey. I would suggest staying to nor more than three stories tall, using lots of expensive wall and floor textures, and adding things like the most expensive lighting options, lots of plants, etc., rather than building huge towers that become pretty much unmanageable unless you have a super computer.

Nobody has built anything for the Community Chest or Chance lots yet. These lots could be businesses or any other type of community lot...they're just entertainment places. They must be completely flat 5x5 lots.

If you're still building in and playing TS2, how about helping to complete our Monopoly Board?

NOTE: If you don't build ON the Monopoly Board, please use a LUSH world to build in. The few lots that were built in desert worlds throw everything into a a weird-looking, partly lush and partly desert setting when playing them.
