Photos of Farmington

Farmington is a small, yet modern farming community with a variety of farm types and community lots. In the following posts, you'll see pictures and descriptions of the lots that come in the world. There will also be families for the world, that can be downloaded separately. We also offer some custom clothing that can be downloaded here. Every single downloadable file has been checked with CUSTARD, for integrity. This is a public forum.

Farmington is divided into distinct areas (districts, if you will). All of the lots you'll see below come in the world.

Starting at the top, you'll find Rock Ridge, which contains only two lots.

Rock Ridge Ranch was created by Lisa (ukpoppyberry).

NOTE: This lot was intended for an alchemist Sim. The garden is oriented that way, and the attic space is filled with the things an alchemist would need.

Rock Ridge Park (which is actually a live performance venue) was created by Linda (lindawing).

You'll also find the celebrity trailer up there, just before your Sims head down Rock Ridge Mountain Trail to the coastal areas. There are several interactions with that trailer, which I'll leave you to discover in private.

On the same side of the river, just down the hill from Rock Ridge, you'll find Highpoint, which consists of four lots.

Highpoint Farm was created, years ago, by our beloved Wendy (Hillcrest), who passed away on December 8, 2011. In the description of the lot, you'll find a link to download the original lot, here at Neighborly Sims.

ALERT: This lovely home is only PARTIALLY-FURNISHED! There are three-four bedrooms.

Downhill from there, on the same side of the river, if you turned right and went all the way to the end of the road, you'd come to Land's End, which has four lots.

Land's End Co-Op #1 was created (under a different name, some time ago), by Deb (Debra).

Land's End Fishing was created way back when TS3 began, when we were filling in a blank copy of Riverside--creating a new community named Creekside. There are no records of who actually created the lot. Linda renovated the lot slightly, to make it fit a little better into the hill at Land's End.

Farmington School contains a Rabbit Hole. The lot was decorated by Linda.

You could take the dirt path that starts beside Co-Op #1, to go around the "western" side of the island, along the coast. Instead, though, we'll turn around and head toward the other side of the island, along the same side of the river, to Lower Landing.

After you pass the school, you'll see Lower Landing Playground on the right. it was built by Lisa.

Just past the playground, you'll spot Lower Landing Farm, which is another of Wendy's lovely lots (renovated slightly by Linda exclusively for use in Farmington). Again, the link to the original lot has been added to this lot's description.

Lower Landing Fields take up the space next to the farm. It has been plotted by Linda as a kitchen garden. It can be purchased by the owners of Lower Landing Farm.

Continuing "north," up the small hill, you'll come to Riverside.

The Riverside Produce, lot, which you'll come to first, can be purchased by the owners of Riverside Farm (next). The produce stand was created by Linda.

Riverside Farm was created by Cherise as a traditional Amish-style Farm. It has no electricity.

The farthest lot in this district is Riverside Fields, which is a true community garden. Anyone can harvest there. It's planted in the square-foot gardening style, and contains at least one of every tree, and at least one of every harvestable plant in the game at this time (from the basic game through Uni). There is also a section of beehives. The lot is meant to be purchased by the owners of Riverside Farm.

To get to the other side of the river, you need to go back to the bridge, which is located directly across from the school. When you reach the end of the bridge, take a right, to go to Farmington's City Center, which is located on Willow Point. There are just two lots.

Farmington Community Library was created by Carrie. Not just a library, it has recreational objects out in the back yard. Your Sims will really enjoy this place of leisure. :uhhuh:

Farmington Civic Center contains City Hall, the Police Station, the Military Station (a combo Rabbit Hole), and a complete, working Fire Station (added to the lot by Linda). You could continue on the road, then the dirt path, around the coastal area, but we'll go there in a few minutes.

Again heading north (on the east side of the river, now), don't take the uphill road. We'll come back to that. Instead, go on toward Cherry Point.

Highpoint.jpg

First you'll come to the Farmington Laundromat. Since laundry is sometimes associated with Chinese, from way back in old western U.S. towns, I've put a lot of the China spawners in this area.

After passing the laundromat, you'll come to Cherry Point Farm. This is another of Deb's older builds (for her own TS3 forum--Deb's Sims Stuff.

Instead of going around the coast, once again, now you should head back to the road that goes up the hill...just past the laundromat, on the left. At the top, on the left, you'll see Palomino Hill, which contains three lots.

HighpointMall-01.jpg

The largest lot is Palomino Horse Farm, which was created by Lisa.

Passing the horse farm and going left, you'll come to a dead end, which is indicative of Farmington Graveyard (yes, you may groan and roll your eyes). The graveyard was created by Carrie.

Land'sEnd.jpg

Farmington Chapel can be accessed from either the path running alongside the graveyard, or the path running alongside the horse farm. The chapel overlooks a goodly part of Farmington, which is also indicative of its purpose (more groans and rolling of the eyes). Carrie created the chapel.

Once you leave the chapel, go on up the road to Cinnamon Hill, which gets its name from all the cinnamon trees which were planted there long ago. There are seven lots on Cinnamon Hill.

First there's a small parking lot, where you can leave your vehicle or your horse. It was created by Lisa.

Land'sEndFishing.jpg

Across the sidewalk from that, there's a country diner called Chicken Feed, which was created by Linda. This lot contains four of the chicken coops from "Country Livin'" (linked in the first post in this topic). If you don't own that Store venue, the coops will be replaced by the large hay bales that came with Supernatural.

Land'sEnd School.jpg

You could then take the pathway toward the bluff, but we'll come back there. Instead, go back to the road and take a right. Directly behind the diner, you'll come to The Chicken Farm, which was created by Melody (OkieOK01). This was the original farm added to this area. Melody originally created it in her own game, to match the chicken coops. It contains four of the coops.

LowerLanding.jpg

The next lot down the road is Chicken Fields. There are beehives there, and more chicken coops. The front part of the lot is plowed, ready for whatever crops the owner of the lot might want to plant.

LowerLandingPlayground.jpg

The road curves around toward the bluff after that. Before you get to anything else, you'll come to Cinnamon Hill Nectary. Anyone in Farmington may use the nectary to make nectar. There's already a good supply of the stuff stored there, which can be purchased by customers. There's also a little snack/bakery stand in the store area, plus the front of the building has a little dining area. There are restrooms and two "offices," which contain shelves full of tasting nectar, for those who can't make up their minds about which type to purchase. This lot is intended for purchase by the owners of Cinnamon Hill Farm (around the corner, on the footpath). This lot was created Linda.

Take the footpath after the nectary, to discover Cinnamon Hill Orchard. There are fruit trees and bees there. The lot was created by Lisa.

The last lot on Cinnamon Hill is Cinnamon Hill Farm, which is yet another of Wendy's lovely lots (it, too, has a link to Wendy's original lot, in its description).

OK! Now it's time to take a hike around the perimeter of the island! Going back downhill to Willow Point, passing the Civic Center, continue on the road, then the footpath.

RiversideProduce.jpg

The first place you'll reach will be Criminal Corner, and The Hideout. As you'll see, there are several abandoned buildings there. This area is thought to be the original Farmington, abandoned a long, long, time ago. In keeping with its legend as a ghost town, your Sims may visit the haunted house out behind The Hideout (which is the Criminal's Rabbit Hole). This lot was decorated by Linda.

RiversideFarm.jpg
RiversideFarm.jpg (399.57 KiB) Viewed 452 times

You can continue on the footpath, and eventually you'll get back to Cherry Point. Before you arrive at the farm, though, you'll find Farmington Refuse--the town's junkyard (created by Linda).

To get to the other side of the island, you need to continue around Cherry Point, then go on past the laundromat again. Go over the bridge and turn right, but don't go up the hill. Stay by the western shore of the river, on the footpath.

CityCenter.jpg

Soon you'll come upon the Gypsy Caravan (a Rabbit Hole), at Gypsy Point. The lot was decorated by Linda. It's a great place for Sims wanting to relax and maybe get their fortunes read. Another feature of that lot is the painting easel. Sims seem to love to stop there and create their own versions of the surrounding scenery. :uhhuh:

Keep on going around the coast, and soon you'll come to Picnic Point Park, right at the corner. It's a great place to...ummm...picnic! This lot was created by Linda.

FarmingtonCivicCenter.jpg

As you continue on the footpath, you'll find the spot where Rock Ridge Trail joins with the coastal path. You could either go on up the trail to Rock Ridge, or you could continue around the coast to Land's End, where we've already been. Thus ends our tour of Farmington.

Note that the entire coast is swimmable, as is the river, if you have Seasons installed.

We hope you will enjoy this world. We thoroughly enjoyed creating it for you.
