Farmington--A Small Farming Community

Farmington is a small, yet modern farming community with a variety of farm types and community lots. In the following posts, you'll see pictures and descriptions of the lots that come in the world. There will also be families for the world, that can be downloaded separately. We also offer some custom clothing that can be downloaded here. Every single downloadable file has been checked with CUSTARD, for integrity. This is a public forum.

Farmington--A Small Farming Community

The members of Neighborly Sims have built this world exclusively for you. If you would like to participate in similar projects in the future, all you have to do is register and become a member here.

The world may contain items from the base game, every EP, and every SP. Because of that, there may be some items that won't show up as originally intended, if you don't have one or more of those parts of the game. You should still be able to make use of the world, and just redecorate as necessary. :uhhuh:

I've created a pictorial" travel map" of Farmington for you, which you can find HERE. In that topic, you can see a photo of every lot, with a description of each district. Enjoy the trip!

We had a lot of fun building this world, and decided that we would offer simple farm families. The alternate clothing for those families is more like that of the Amish, Mennonite, or even Hutterite families you might see around the United States. These are "plain" Sims, and their clothing reflects their way of life. Even the ones we made with no CC or store items have quite simple clothing without a lot of ornamentation.

The families we made for Farmington are in separate topics in this forum, for your downloading pleasure. Some of them use the clothing made by Lisa, and some don't.

YOU CAN FIND THE PLAIN CLOTHING THAT LISA MADE FOR FARMINGTON, HERE

One of the farms has been built specifically for a plain Sim family. Ostensibly, it has no electricity (at least that's our story). The lighting is all candles, and though there is a fridge and a cookstove, they are gas-powered. There's a smoke alarm hidden behind the fridge in that farm, which is obviously battery-powered. No burglar alarm has been included in the build, but it, too, could be hidden behind something, and obviously could be considered battery-powered, as well. :yeah:

SPECIAL NOTE: This world contains items from the Country Livin' store venue. If you have it, the chicken coops up on Cinnamon Hill will show up for you. If you don't have it, no worries. The coops turn into the big hay bales from the Supernatural EP. They look quite natural in the three settings in that area that use the coops. :uhhuh:

NOTE FOR DEVELOPMENT TEAM: Don't forget that you'll need to uninstall the latest world you have installed, before installing this FINAL version, which has three last-minute changes after the last TEST version I uploaded previously.

Here's my SAVED world, with Sims included...

SPECIAL NOTE: If you download the above SAVED WORLD file, you won't need to download the Sims separately from the other topics, unless you want to. Sarah Hershberger is in this save. She is wearing "plain" clothing made by Lisa. If you don't have those items in your game, Sarah will wear whatever your game substitutes. Also, you'll find that, in this save, I "weatherized" the two Co-Op homes at Land's End. I hadn't noticed that they originally didn't have a ceiling for the top floor. With Seasons installed, that ceiling is necessary for the snow to not enter the house. :uhhuh:

In this save, Sarah Hershberger has moved into The Chicken Farm; The Millers (by Cherise) are now established at Riverside Farm; The Karkus Family now lives at Land's End Co-Op #2 as intended; The Millers (by Lisa) have taken over Cherry Point Farm; The Wittmers have discovered (the partially-furnished) Highpoint Farm; and The Simples have found themselves delighted by Land's End Co-Op #1.

The download file is zipped. Save it to a safe place, then extract the file. You will get a folder. That folder goes here (in a typical TS3 configuration):

C:/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves
(Just plop the whole folder into the Saves folder.)

When you start up your game, Farmington will be in the Main Menu, ready for you to enter and play. :uhhuh:
