Well, we've gotten about 6 inches of snow since yesterday evening and it's still snowing. The temperature isn't supposed to get above freezing today either. The kids are out of school...again. :wow:

I just finished shoveling snow and cleaning off my car so I can get it out tomorrow. Whew! That was hard work. I'm expecting the kids to go 2 hours late. :uhhuh:

Man! What a time for Travis to have to be gone--for all sorts of reasons! :-(

We got about 1" of snow, I think. It was still coming down about an hour ago. I just looked out, and...woot...no snow falling! The wind (not bad) has already blown most of the very light snow into small drifts, and it's supposed to start warming up for a nice day tomorrow. I sure hope so!

Let's see. What has happened this week while Travis has been gone?

- We got 6 inches of snow on Monday and it's been freezing rain and dreary ever since.
- Monday a bird got in the house from the basement. It took Ethan and I 30 minutes to chase it out the front door using a Minecraft sword.
- Our washing machine broke last night, which means I had to spend the better part of an hour wringing out clothes because the spin cycle doesn't work. Now I have to spend the day at my parent's house doing laundry.

Thank goodness Travis comes home tonight! :uhhuh:

Oh, wow! I hope you got a laugh out of using the Minecraft sword to get the bird out of the house! You should have taken pictures of each other with the sword!

As for the rest...BLECH!!! Travis is coming home today, right? I sure hope so!!!

Yes, he got home at around 7:15 last night. Yay!!! :joy:

I only got 2 loads of laundry done because I was at the endo from 10:40 to 12:40 yesterday. At least we have some clean clothes now. Travis said he'd be calling our repairman to come out and take a look at the washer. There goes all of our tax refund and vacation money. We just paid $1400 to get Travis's car fixed too. :ohno:

So glad Travis made it home safe and sound!!

Isn't it wonderful how God provides us with what we need, when we need it? Getting a tax refund which will give you the funds to pay to get your washer repaired - that's really awesome!!

I received a payout on my retirement that paid for Terry's patio extension and kitchen he wanted. We did get an estimate of how much we will have to pay in taxes this year. First time we've had to pay. But it's because we had to draw monies out of our retirement fund to pay for the move and weren't able to get taxes held out at the time of withdrawal. Around $6,000, we'll have to pay!! But that's ok, because we do have the funds to cover that. I am grateful when my retirement fund paid out, they withheld taxes, so we shouldn't be faced with paying again next year. :uhhuh:

Hoping all get's back to normal, your health issues get resolved and there won't be anymore unexpected expenses to have to deal with!! :hug-group-6y:

Thanks Melody. :friends:

It gets frustrating though because as soon as we get some money that we think will help us get caught up with other bills, something breaks and we have to fix it. I am thankful that we have that money to use and don't have to stop paying on something else. We'll figure out a way to take the boys on a nice vacation. :uhhuh:
