Linda's Handicrafts

This public forum is expressly for sharing things we like to do when we're not playing computer games. Some of us cross stitch. Some knit. Some crochet. Some do all of those, and more! What do YOU do in your spare time?

It is a bit difficult, because of the short rows, but once you've done it a LOT (as in nearly 7' of scarf), it pretty much becomes second nature. There's a lot more of the scarf hanging down the back of the chair. ;-)

Thanks, Melody. I like the way it came out, but I wish I hadn't tried to block the hat. (sigh)

I understand. The hats I've made, I was too lazy to go through the blocking process - so I guess it's good to be lazy? :evillaugh: I needed my hats in Oklahoma. I ended up having to make one for Terry, since he had to borrow my pink hat when he went out to shovel snow. He had a nice "manly" hat in a "manly" color after that. :evillaugh: We've not needed our hats since we moved back to Texas. It doesn't get as cold here. :friends:

Thanks, Lisa!

Update on the hat...Judi washed it, and proved beyond a doubt that blocking a knitted piece absolutely works. Once you block it, it stays in that shape forever! Sigh.

We discussed making it into a toy pouch by adding a couple of straps. If we do, I'll put a picture here.
