Linda's Handicrafts

This public forum is expressly for sharing things we like to do when we're not playing computer games. Some of us cross stitch. Some knit. Some crochet. Some do all of those, and more! What do YOU do in your spare time?

I chose to make this in a size probably just above what Elizabeth is actually wearing. She may not be able to wear it until spring, but that's one reason I chose the colors I did. I can hardly wait to get it done!

I finished the back (or front) panel today. If I had already made the ruffle band, I probably would have gone on and finished the other panel. I didn't have to budget today, as David isn't going to shop until Friday, due to having to work late today, and being at the home's Christmas dinner tonight. Jonny is there, too. The head cook told him she REALLY wanted him there today, because he's the one she really trusts to be sure that everything gets done! Woot!

Jon has gone in to Judi's and Harry's house, taking his laundry with him. He's turning in a couple more applications in town over the next couple of days.

So it's very quiet here right now--at least for the next hour. I expect Jonny and David home about 8 PM.

Here's a quick picture of the finished panel. I used the purple yarn at the top, to finish off the yoke.

When Harry was here to pick up Jon, just a bit ago, I asked him if he thought Elizabeth was going to like it, and he was very enthusiastic. It has ruffles and pretty colors, including her favorite one: purple. What's not to like?!

Yes! Me too! Judi dresses her in pink, a lot, but she'll CHOOSE purple every time she gets the chance. As much as a little go-getter as she is, she's also very feminine, and loves pretty colors and clothes, in general.

That is so sweet! I'm so glad that Judi got her little girl. Elizabeth will love the dress you are making her! It's turning out beautiful. Purple is my favorite color too. ;-)

I got the last band knit last night. I have to budget today, so David can take the grocery list with him tomorrow morning when he heads for town. He has to help Cindi do some stuff tomorrow, so he's combining that trip with the grocery shopping. So hopefully I'll finish the little dress tomorrow while both he and Jonny are gone (Jon's still in town). I'm so looking forward to seeing it completed--including blocking! :joy:

Speaking of girls...not sure if I mentioned it or not, somewhere, earlier, but the new Francy baby (due in March) will be another boy!

Yup! That's what the guys have been telling her. I, on the other hand, keep telling her she does NOT need to actually finish up that team!

This is the scarf I made for my sister-in-law. There was a hat to go with it, but I ruined it trying to block it. Should have left it alone. I am halfway done with an afghan for my brother. You have inspired me, Melody, to get it finished.
