Answered your PM about downloading a test version, Meadow. You upload it; I'll download it. The heck with the data usage. If I go over 100% they are going to wipe it for me, anyway, knowing that I'm waiting for the new service to be installed.

I keep wanting to throw some duck spawners in the rivers to spawn some ducks to swim around in them. Except, of course, we don't have those!

I took a few shots while I was checking out the lay of the land in Hope Springs for Meadow today, and told her I'd upload those photos here. There aren't very many, but I was in love with the scenery, and thought you all might like to see a few more shots.

First of all, Meadow, here are the ONLY two places I found any tears in the water, as I mentioned in my PM to you just a bit ago. I didn't take pictures of the two community beach lots that I mentioned that need to be relaid, but there are only the two (C-10 and C-11), and all the other lots are perfectly seamless. Great job!!!

The tears at the left end of the beach:

Thanks, everyone. :friends: Those pictures are great, Linda. ;-) I especially like the one with the horse. It makes the world look more lived in, and it looks quite natural and like a pleasant rural type setting. (It'll of course look less rural once houses are in, although still somewhat rural for those with systems that can't handle all those lots in the world at once.)

I really need to get going on the beta again, and get it out soon, or I'm not going to be able to meet my target early December release date. :uhhuh:

Placing all the umpteenth number of rocks on the riverbanks alongside the bridges is what got me. I had absolutely no idea it would take anywhere so many of them. We're talking 1,000+ rocks here, just on the two bridges in the center of the map. Every one of which needs to be carefully placed and tweaked. I can't remember my time required estimates atm, but I think it was over 24 hours of rock placing. And after all that work, I'm imagining that I'm most likely going to have to take them all out again, because the game is most likely going to throw major fits with that many objects in the world, especially all packed into that one little spot like that. :ohno:

As it stands, between the rocks, and now needing to spend 2-3 months reinstalling and reconfiguring my OS from scratch because of the recent malware attack, I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to have any, or very, very few, lots ready for the release of the world. The City Hall was a long ways towards done, and the hospital, science center, and school were started, but I haven't gotten any work done, lotwise, since I did those.

Here's the placement guide for where I put Wendy's lots for Hope Springs. I believe I didn't tweak it yet for having to add in a lot in the upper 20x30 section. That only shifted a few of the very highest lot numbers, though, so most of them should still be accurate.

Thanks, Linda. :friends:

If those rocks take me much longer, I may just end up telling you to move ahead with beta playtesting on the version you already have. :uhhuh:

Not to worry, because I won't have time to do that for a couple of months, now! :rotfl:

Ah, ok. I guess I'll be testing Hope Springs completely on my own then. I would very much like to have it released in early December. The lots won't be available for a long time after that, though, there's no way I can get them done now with my laptop attacked by the malware and such.
