GGG--Minecraft Single Videos (Playlist)

I've gotten interested in creating Challenge and/or Adventure Maps for Minecraft. As I learn more about these and have creations to offer, they will be posted here.

Just keeping track of the single videos I'll be making now and again, to illustrate/demonstrate techniques or just fun stuff in the game of Minecraft.

Some screenshots I made, today, in Minecraft 1.7.6, to show some various ways of placing birch and oak trees, where they would still grow, even way back then. I added comments/descriptions to each photo's file label (at the bottom of each picture).

Trying to limit birch growth, using slabs at the top...I believe this is six layers tall. There are three empty spaces at each side of the sapling. It didn't work.

This limiter has SIX layers under the slab. It worked perfectly. I did this several times, and even using the glass-block-placement thing, it still worked, but gave the tree the extra upper branches! That's good to know! That way, you can get the "huge trees" with at least some of their extra wood, and some nice shapes, but not have them go so high you have to climb up in them to take out the extra wood. Nice!

NOTE: I went back in, in the from above, but in 18w20c, and tried the limiter setup in the last photo above, and it still worked, EXCEPT...the glass block didn't work. On the NW corner, the tree wouldn't even grow. On any of the other three corners, the tree would grow, but it ONLY produced the small type of tree, which was ALWAYS limited to the 6-layer height or smaller. The fence posts continued to not give any problems.

This means that the fencepost thing that happened in the VIDEO, was certainly a glitch. Whew!
